One person I really admire for his consistent defense of freedom of speech is Tucker Carlson. He starts and ends his program tonight with looks at Google's enforcement of ideological conformity.
Another champion of free speech is Mark Steyn, who was a guest on tonight's program. Mark makes the point that free speech enables one to argue for other freedoms. He discussed the power of monopoly providers like Google, Facebook, and Pay Pal, which kicked off VDare from using its service. Google is in the thought business, ideas, enforcing ideological straitjackets. He talked about how YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter enforce ideologically constrained content.
A woman with the unusual name of Harmeet Dhillon is representing Trump supporters in lawsuits against Berkley and San Jose. Trump supporters were beaten in both those California cities with no police protection, on orders of the politicians who run those cities. The San Jose case has now reached the 9th Circuit. You know what that means: a ruling against the Trump supporters probably.
Nancy Pelosi is trying to get the park service to disallow a Conservative Patriot Prayer Rally in San Francisco. Is it white nationalist, as lying Pelosi alleges? Joey Gibson came on Tucker's program to explain that only one of the several scheduled speakers is white.
Tucker made the point that the Left is trying to discredit the founders of this country and the beliefs, which are enshrined in our laws and Constitution. Tucker was libeled by Bill Crystal, who accused him of rationalizing slavery. Hysteria has supplanted rational debate in this country. People make political arguments not to explain their beliefs, but to highlight what a virtuous, morally upstanding person they are.
Next topic: abortion. Oregon now touts free abortions for all, no matter where the woman is in her pregnancy. Illegal aliens are included in the free service. Iceland has killed all babies with Down Syndrome. Sex selection? You want to make sure you get a male? Fine, Oregon will pay for your abortion.
